In the centre of the park, a middle aged woman practices Tai-chi comfortably, embracing herself with this moment of inner tranquility. The joyful looks on her face makes one wonder what her world looks like...

Ai Chao is a single mother who raised two children over twenty years all by herself. However, as she approaches her retirement age, the hidden secrets of this little family of three unearth one after another. It begins when her son, Song Hai. Handsome. Intelligent. But shares an oddly intimate relationship with his male colleague. Then her unmarried daughter, Song Ling, returns from France after studying aboard, with a rather unexpected suprise - her newborn baby.

Having grown up in a large and traditional Chinese family, how will Ai Chao face all these impacts brought to her by her children? And how will she deal with the pressures from her conservative and judgmental relatives?

In the midst of contradictions and struggles is a opportunity for tolerance and acceptance through a combination of family and love. In fact, her world is not complicated - it is just like our own worlds.

About the Director

Hsiu-Chiung Chiang graudated from the Taipei National University of the Arts with a degree in Drama, and is currently studying towards a Master degree in Filmmaking. She has worked as a film editting assistant, a producer, an associate director, a scriptwriter, a voice dubber and an actress. Her work won original screenplay awards from the Government Information Office, Republic of China in 1999. She was also nominated as the best supporting actress in movie for the 28th Golden Horse Award.
