Meigo

8 years old Meigo falls in love with Bamboo, a lounge musician. Jealous over the burgeoning affection between her blind sister and Bamboo, Meigo misleads her so she was lost in a carnival*. Angrily, Bamboo scolds Meigo, so she runs way to her foster family. Although well-off in that family, Meigo's heart misses something...

Lotus

55 years old Lotus waits in the park, in silence, for a past that will not return. After a show marriage with Yan, they are back to where they were, both alone. Lotus has Alzheimer's, and Yan has AIDS-- they can only rely on mutual support to brace against societal stigma, and to live for whatever that remains of their lives.

Bamboo

17 years old Bamboo is probing the notion of self and the realm of romance. There are many questions towards the self, whether it is male or female. And a disgust over the swelling breasts. By a chance sexual encounter with Lotus, the long held confusions are unraveled one by one. Bamboo decides to leave home, to find a new life in the world.

About the Director

Zero Chou is one of the few elite female directors in Taiwan. Upon graduation from the National Chengchi University with a degree in Philosophy, she started her career as a journalist and later on entered the film industry. She is famous for her documentaries in her earlier career in filming. Her films and had won international awards. In 2007, her work was the winner of Teddy Award for Best Feature at the Berlin International Film Festival.
